Taylor Swift to Perform at the Formula One U.S. Grand Prix

Get ready to "Shake It Off" Taylor Swift is set for one of her biggest shows ever. This October, she'll perform a special concert as part of Formula One United States Grand Prix at Circuit of the Americas (COTA) in Austin, Texas.
Swift, a 10-time Grammy award winner whose fifth album 1989 sold almost 1.3m copies in its debut week last year, will be the headline act after qualifying on Saturday, 22 October.
Many were worried for the U.S. Grand Prix because of a 20% cut in Texas state funding but now all systems are go for 2016. Circuit of the Americas chairman Bobby Epstein said signing up Swift was to keeping the race on the calendar for a fifth year.
"How do we expand our audience? That's what this headliner does," he said.
"In the past we have chosen headliners that are a great match with our existing demographic. But I don't need our existing demographic alone. We need the future," added Epstein.
"We think we will sell every ticket that we have got and it is because of the combination of both Formula 1 and Taylor Swift."
The effects of Hurricane Patricia that hit the race's revenues last season, with Saturday's final practice and qualifying postponed until Sunday.
Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton took his third world championship that weekend. The legendary Sir Elton John headline last year’s U.S. Grand Prix.
The concert will take place October, 22 tickets go on sale April 6.
