A Wisconsin district held by Republicans since 2001, and voted heavily for Romney in 2012 and Trump in 2016 turned blue last night when county clerks reported Democrat Patty Schachtner of Somerset, defeated Republican Assemblyman Adam Jarchow, of Balsam Lake by a 55-44 percent margin, and turning the once red seat blue in the state of Wisconsin. After the numbers were certified, Jarchow concede the race.
Adam Jarchow said, "I just called Patty Schachtner and congratulated her on her victory tonight, I look forward to working with her as our new state Senator. Thank you to all who worked so hard for our campaign."
In a separate statement, Schachtner told Wisconsin voters, "I have always prided myself on being trustworthy, but there's a lot of people that voted for me that don't know me that trust me," "That's a huge responsibility and I don't take it lightly and I am super excited to serve the people of western Wisconsin."
