It was an exciting day on a hot track, with ground temperatures soaring to 129 degrees during qualifying, at the Formula One Grand Prix in Hungary. Sitting in pole position is the championship leader Lewis Hamilton, driver with Mercedes AMG. This is Hamilton’s 9th pole out of ten races, and his 47th career pole.
While frustrated teammate Nico Rosberg, was hungry for a pole in Hungary, he simply did not have the pace. Some fans are sympathetic to Rosberg’s frustration because this time last year, although he was behind in championship points, he was in the lead with pole positions. Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel, has continued to put the team on the podium, will start on the second row, in third. Vettel’s former teammate from Infinity Red Bull, Daniel Ricciardo, will start forth.
Ready to jump out in front of the pack will be Kimi Raikkonen, who’s a cowboy with something to prove to the Marinello team that’s rumored to be, checking out Williams’s driver, Valtteri Bottas.Bottas will hit the grid in sixth position, with the young Russian Daniil Kvyat behind him in seventh, and Felipe Massa eighth.
It was a little frightening for fans to see Mexican driver Sergio Perez, with Sahara Force India take a tumble, but felt relieved when told, "he is okay."
Understandably, teams are on heightened alert concerning the safety of their drivers, especially after recently laying to rest one of their own, Manor-Marussia’s Jules Bianchi. A statement released to the press ftom Sahara Force India said, "Sahara Force India will not take part in this afternoon’s second practice session at the Hungaroring as the team continues to investigate a suspension problem, which caused Sergio Perez to crash this morning. Sergio’s car suffered significant damage to the bodywork, wings and floor, and repairs are ongoing.
As a precaution, the team has chosen not to run Nico Hulkenberg this afternoon. The team will work hard to fully understand the cause of the failure and find a resolution in order to be ready for Saturday’s free practice session."
