For presumptive nominee Donald Trump, the most important night of the Republican Convention was last night, when State Delegates formally chose Donald J. Trump as their party's presidential nominee. In an emotional but stunning victory to some, a billionaire businessman builder won the right to become the Republican Party pick, in spite of mockery, speculation, and threats to deny him the nomination of which he won fair and square.
Trump was a political heavyweight defeating 16 rivals fighting for the same spot and establishment figures pushing back in every way imaginable. At the end of the day, the holdouts realized, if they wanted a chance to beat Democrat Hillary Clinton in November, they had better get behind their nominee.
State after state from Alabama to West Virginia, pledged their delegates for Trump, with a few that were of no consequence directed to Cruz, Rubio, and Kasich.
It a dramatic and emotional turn for some, Trump's home state of New York, represented by his adult children, put him over the top to clinch the nomination.
"It's my honor to be able to throw Donald Trump over the top in the delegation count tonight," Donald Trump Jr., said, to the cheers and applause of the convention hall.
"It's unbelievable. It's surreal. I'm so proud of my father," "He's the ultimate outsider and he did it. We are so proud of him,” said Trump's daughter Ivanka Trump. - See more at: http://www.xiroxonenews.com/#sthash.7twmdCEr.dpuf
