Red Bull driver Daniel Ricciardo has looked pass the unfortunate mishap that possibly cost him the Monaco Grand Prix two weeks ago.
Ricciardo’s million dollar smile couldn’t be seen on the podium in Monaco after finishing second behind Lewis Hamilton due to a communications mix up during Ricciardo’s pit stop. But, a refreshed and upbeat Ricciardo shows that famous smile is returning in a video he posted on Twitter. “Now that I’ve got over Monaco I just want to get back in the car and basically smash in and get amongst it,” he said. “You’re going to see the same intensity that you saw in Monaco,” he said. “I plan on keeping that up and not letting anything else get in the way.” Red Bull and Ricciardo showed they are ready to do battle with Ferrari and Mercedes with their performance in Monaco. Their horsepower and nimble chassis, along with Ricciardo’s level of focus which allowed him to claim his first pole position of his career, had jaws dropping.
Now, they head to Circuit Gilles Villeneuve in Montreal, which will continue not only test Ricciardo’s focus, but Renault’s new engine as well.
The upgraded Renault power unit Ricciardo used in Monaco will also be used in teammate Max Verstappen’s car in Canada. “Hopefully with the new engine update it should be a positive race for us. We’ll try and aim for a podium,” said Verstappen. |
